Beef is another source rich in zinc. In 3 ounces there are 7 mg. you can eat it the way you want with hamburgers, in a beef stew or roasted. But limit yourself to only one serving per week since red meat is linked with many conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease.
Fortified breakfast cereal might be the best choice and the easiest one. There are 3.8 mg in a ¾ cup. This is 25 % of your RDA. Pour skimmed milk in your cereals and add some fruits to make this meal not only rich in zinc but also in many other vitamins.
Pork chops have 2.9 mg in 3 ounces. Pork is very rich in proteins but as any other meat it is recommended to eat only once a week.
Cashews contain 1.6 mg in 1 ounce. This can be your healthy snack between meals. They are also rich in vitamin B that helps body in making new cells and vitamin K which is crucial for blood clotting. Another way to include cashews is in a stir fry or salad.
Chicken is very rich in zinc. It contains 2.4 mg in 3 ounces. The possibilities to eat and cook chicken are endless as are the benefits. The protein in chicken helps your body to build muscle and it is a great source of vitamin B6.
