Do home remedies work as migraine headache relief?
If you are one of those people who suffer from severe headaches you probably know that there is not only one migraine headache relief. As a matter of fact there are plenty, but which are the good ones and which are the bad ones. For instance, today is the third day that I am having a terrible headache and nothing has helped me so far. I took some medicine but my head is still spinning and throbbing and pulsating. And I think that I would do anything to get rid of this feeling of pressure.
So, I was feeling desperate and I was looking for migraine headache relief on the Internet and I came up to so many home remedies. I had to try some of them. After all, I had those remedies at home and I had nothing to lose. I did not think that the pain can get any worse.
Lavender Oil in the role of migraine headache relief
I like the smell of lavender and I always have lavender oil. I use it in a diffuser but this time I was supposed to inhale it. So I put couple of drops in boiling water and I made a lavender oil vapor.
Peppermint oil in the role of migraine headache relief
Peppermint is very refreshing oil. I do not think that there is someone who does not like its smell. Peppermint is known to be a soothing home remedy because it helps in opening the sinuses so more oxygen can get in the bloodstream.
There were many other options but I thought that I would stick to these two and hope to see some results, and I did. But I do not know whether the medicine that I took 3 hours ago kicked in or the lavender relaxed me and the peppermint oil woke me up. I do not care now. I was headache free and I thought to myself, next time I have a headache I am doing everything exactly the same way.
I did some research later with my clear head, because to be honest I do not want to go through the same pain again. What caught my attention was a suggestion to make some diet changes. I think that I already knew this before but still I need constant reminder to start taking care of myself. I know that ice cream sometimes triggers my headaches, but how can a person derives itself from such a sweet pleasure. Other foods that trigger headaches are dairy products and even some fruits like bananas and citrus. Just keep track of these foods and find out which are your enemies and try to avoid them.
