Most Colorful Cities in the World
My last trip to Italy was amazing. I have visited some of the most beautiful places in the Liguria Region.
The buildings in the area are a blend of baroque, gothic and modern architecture. As attractive as that can be what blew my mind was a small fishing village Boccadasse with lively sea front cafes and colorful buildings which make the city a real museum.
I have to say that this trip through history inspired me to search for some of the most colorful cities and it turns out that there are many.
I have visited a great number of cities on this list but I have not visited them all, but they ar on my bucket list for sure.
Aachen is a city in Germany that is situated near the borders with Belgium and the Netherlands. Today this city is known as a spa center but historically it is a very important city and it is known as the place where many kings were crowned.
Aveiro is a city that is only 75 km away from Porto, so this means that it is easily accessible for a day trip. This city is known as “the little Venice ” but this can be misleading because the city is known for its architecture in the first place. There are many things you can do here, so we would suggest you to stay even longer if you have a chance to.
The Battery is a small neighborhood in St. John`s that lies under the slopes of Signal Hill. This place is so breathtaking but unfortunately there is some evidence that severe avalanches have occurred in the area. The houses are small and colorful and you can find the Anderson House here which is a historic property in this area.
Bosphorus is a 32 km long strait that is a part of a continental boundary between Europe and Asia. The shore is one of the busiest areas during the summer. There are fine neighborhoods, restaurants and cafeterias in this area.
Brekstad is a city in Norway where you can do a number of relaxing things. A popular activity is birdwatching, playing golf and fishing. There is a beautiful park where you can spend a lovely afternoon having piknik.
We would advise you to book your accommodation prior to your arrival because there are not many options in Brekstad.
Bristol is a city that is situated in the southwest of England and it has been voted the best place to live in 2017 by The Sunday Times. The city has so much to offer. You can start your visit by taking a ferry boat and get a boat`s eye view of the city.
Bruges is one of those fairy-tale picture perfect cities that you have to visit at least once in your lifetime. There are plenty of activities that this city can offer to keep you busy. Our advice is to stay overnight, because if you go to Bruges on a day trip only you will miss a lot, those evening floodlighting are extraordinaire.
On my trip to Venice I visited this small island with its brightly colored houses. The thing that I enjoyed the most here was the fact that the tourists are not crowding Burano that much. On the one hand, I enjoyed my visit way more, but on the other hand I think that holiday makers are missing a lot.
Cinque Terre, Italy
Cinque Terre offers one of the most dramatic coastal scenery. 5 little villages connected with a hike trail that you can take in a day but that way you will miss so much. The best part is to spend the night in one of these old fishing villages when the lights turn on and the tourists take off, and you are alone with the sounds of the crashing waves.
Cologne is a city in Germany that suits all tastes. You can place a padlock with your partner on the railings on the Hohenzollern Bridge, take an art history tour or experience the nightlife in one of the many clubs.
If you are planning a trip to one of these beautiful places you can check availability on Booking.com since this is the best and the most reliable website that I always use for finding accommodation.
Another great option is to rent a place through Airbnb. You can find great rooms and apartments since there are a lot of great options. You can use this code to get $27 free AirBnb credit.
