Schiltach in the Black Forest
Schiltach is a small town where you can find peace and quiet. Schiltach is a located in the district of Rotweil in Germany and is definitely worth the visit, especially if you are eager to beat the crowds, and, what a better way to do that than get lost in the wilderness of the Black Forest.
Every year, when people are planning their getaway, they fall in the trap of busy resorts and landmarks that have become so commercial. They are not to blame, they are just trying to escape their grey everyday work routine. With that in mind I am offering you a different approach to traveling. At least I know that I did that and it works like magic. I constantly discover new places that are still not on the travel agencies` radar.
This requires a bit more planning, but the outcome is remarkable. Schiltach is 20 km from Freudenstadt, 55 km from Strasbourg and 82 km from Stuttgart. You can also reach Schiltach from some other larger cities too. We traveled from Strasbourg and it took us less than hour and a half. We arrived really early so we had enough time to explore the town, admire the gorgeous houses and have a stroll by the river Kinzig.
I hope that you will take into consideration this unique place and get some peace and quiet for yourself.

We have visited Schiltach on a day trip from Strasbourg, so after we spend a lovely afternoon there we had to leave. But if you are looking for a quiet holiday destination then I believe that you will enjoy spending couple of days in this cozy small town where people are friendly and the food is delicious.
