Easy ways to simplify your life
Knowing how to simplify your life in the years to come should be your top priority.
Everywhere I go, I listen to people constantly complain about things that they actually want to do but they are not.
They do not spend enough time with their families, they do not have enough time for themselves, or simply they cannot find the time to take that weekend away.
Make a promise to yourself that you will not waste your time scrolling facebook or any other social media, for starters.
Learn to say ‘no’ to the things you do not like and make room for things you wanted to do for too long.
If I speak for myself, the only thing that I am trying to accomplish at this point is to avoid negative people and unnecessary stress.
I was looking for a way to simplify my life and from all the articles that I have read I learned that I am actually taking baby steps into that direction.
I find this amusing because it was not my plan at all, it sort of just happened.
Here are some ways that I, unintentionally, managed to simplify my life.
Declutter your Closet
Lately I am trying to become minimalist, trying to pay less attention to materialistic things and add more value to the time I spend with my partner and my family.
If you are a shopaholic like I am, it is going to be a bit difficult at the beginning, but with time you learn how to get rid of things you actually do not use anymore.
Every blouse, every dress in my closet has some history, so it was difficult to give them away. So I stretched this process as much as possible.
I was reducing my closet one item at a time, at the beginning, later to learn that I can reduce even more. Gaining weight along the way helps you in the process a lot.
Stop Being Negative
The day can turn from good to bad all of a sudden, and there is nothing you can do to change that.
What I realized is the fact that people get frustrated over some insignificant little things.
For instance, if your car didn`t start in the morning don`t spend your whole day thinking about it. It is that simple.
Refocus your energy onto positive things, this should be your driving force in many other situations that life brings to you. Especially if your final goal is to simplify your life.
Moving past difficult situations is simply difficult. But learning how to be more optimistic and positive should pay off in the long haul.
Spend More Time Reading
Reading is the best way to distress, at least for me. Don`t you just enjoy diving into a story that is not yours and let the words unveil its true meaning.
Life cannot get any simpler than this.
Declutter Your Email
If you are still using your first email, then you have done your fare shares with subscriptions.
Well, now you have to start unsubscribing to all those unnecessary subscriptions.
As you check your email daily, unsubscribe from the emails that you are sure do not add any value.
Organize Your Life
I used to waste a significant amount of time looking for things.
As the time passes the stress builds up and I end up giving up, all the time.
To become more organized I started using different types of organizers, and they not only save space but also time, since you know where everything is.
Declutter your Online Presence
Spending time on social media is one of my favorite things to do. The first thing I do in the morning I grab my phone and check emails and notifications.
I read somewhere that an average person spends 5 hours a day on social media. That is a lot of time gone to waste.
You need to make the decision for yourself to shut down all your accounts, or if you cannot be so drastic about it you can create a time block. This way you will not be able to access your account for a certain amount of time.
What is Truly Important in Your Life
We all have some priorities but then life happens and we simply forget about them.
Sit down, take a pen and paper and start making a list.
You will be able to simplify your life by eliminating any extra clutter you have been carrying away for so long.
I have mentioned before that people should not multitask, because the outcome is not always of a good quality.
What we do not realize is the fact that switching from one task to another does not save us time at all.
This way you are even spending more time rather when you are approaching one task at a time.
Are you also thinking about simplifying your life?
Is there anything else you would add to the list?
